Giraffe baby "Betty Francis"
-born November 14, 2010, a female, she has a very quiet laid back personality.
Red River hoglets
-born March 2011, two adorable hoglet babies. Their parents are Ari and Huey. (Note: the hoglets will be out in their yard when it is above 60 degrees)
Primate World Babies
Gorilla baby, "Tumani"
- born January 31, 2007, plays with other gorillas a lot; and can be seen doing back riding on her grandmother Juju. Roxie, the oldest female gorilla and Tumani - the youngest gorilla love to hang around together a lot.
Orangutan baby, "Godek"
- born February 19, 2009. The orangutan baby is the second offspring for 22-year-old mother Sumagu (su-MAW-gu) and 19-year-old father, Baka (BAW-caw). Godek is adventurous and loves to climb and hover near his mom.Golden lion tamarin babies
- two, born March 30, 2010. At less than five weeks of age, they were regularily jumping off of mom and dad and climbing around on their own!
Monkey Pavilion Babies
Geoldis monkey baby
- born on March 22, 2011. Mom's name is Lola, she is 13 years old and this is the 10th baby she has given birth to at CMZ! Dad's name is Stuart, he is 7 years old; he arrived at CMZ in March of 2010. The father usually starts helping with carrying the baby when it is 2-3 weeks old. Infants start independence (short periods of time moving on their own, not clinging to parents) at 5-6 weeks of age. This family of Goeldi monkeys shares their exhibit with two Hoffman's two-toed sloths. Stop by Monkey Pavilion to visit the new baby!
